Pour l’édition 2019 du Festival Démesuré à Clermont-Ferrand, le Trio Salzedo, avec un concert intitulé “Le Temps Suspendu”, rend hommage à Tôn Thất Tiết, compositeur imprégné de taoïsme et de bouddhisme qui poursuit le rêve d’une communion profonde avec la nature. C’est très naturellement que ses oeuvres seront encadrées par celles de deux compositrices à l’écriture très ciselée : Nina Senk et Zuriñe Guerenabarrena ainsi que d’une composition de Joan Magrané Figuera.
Le concert aura lieu le 1er novembre 2019 au Théâtre le Petit Vélo à Clermont-Ferrand, à 20h30

A new CD of Tôn Thất Tiết‘s chamber work entitled Incarnations Structurales (after one of his pieces) has just been released. The album was recorded by the Trio Salzedo, a French chamber group composed of Frédérique Cambreling (harp), Marine Perez (flute) et Pauline Bartissol (cello), that has been championing contemporary music, Tôn-Thất Tiết’s work in particular. Incarnations structurales includes: Endless MurmuringI (1991) for harp and cello, Thủy Lâm… Vô (1992) for flute and harp, Mémoire des Sons (2016), a piece for cello solo written in memory of Henri Dutilleux, Le Tombeau de Christian Lardé (2013), for flute solo, composed in memory of his friend, flutist Christian Lardé, and an earlier work, the trio Incarnations Structurales (1967) for harp, flute and cello.
A concert was given at the Galerie 19 Paul Fort, in Paris, for the launching of the album.
Parution de Incarnations structurales, un nouveau disque entièrement consacré à la musique de chambre de Tôn Thất Tiết, tout particulièrement les pièces écrites pour la harpe, la flûte et le violoncelle. L’album a été enregistré par le Trio Salzedo, composé de Frédérique Cambreling (harpe), Marine Perez (flûte) et Pauline Bartissol (violoncelle), trois musiciennes qui ont, depuis de longues années, défendu la musique du compositeur vietnamien. Au programme de ce disque: Endless MurmuringI (1991) pour harpe et violoncelle, Thủy Lâm… Vô (1992) for flûte et harpe, Mémoire des Sons (2016), une pièce pour violoncelle seul composée à la mémoire de son ami Henri Dutilleux, Le Tombeau de Christian Lardé (2013), écrite en souvenir de son ami et interprète, le flûtiste Christian Lardé ainsi que le trio Incarnations Structurales (1967) pour harpe, flûte et violoncelle.
Pour le lancement de l’album, un concert a été donné dans la très belle Galerie 19 Paul Fort, dans le 14è arrondissement de Paris. Etaient présent des amis musiciens et compositeurs, des proches, et quelques uns de ses interprètes.
A new piece by Tôn Thất Tiết, Horizon Nordique for harpsichord and guitar will be premiered in Helsinki, Finland, at the beautiful Temppeliaukion Church, during a recital by Assi Karttunen and Rody van Gemert, on November 15th, 2019. The concert, entitled Archipelago will focus on new music by composers from Finland and Japan. The event is presented by Suomen Solistiyhdistys.

Release of a new CD featuring the world premiere of Regards dans la Brume, three pieces composed by Tôn Thất Tiết as a homage to Claude Debussy‘s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune. The whole album is celebrating Debussy’s centenary this year, and Tôn Thất Tiết was asked to compose a new work in mirror to that famous masterpiece. The up-and-coming French Syntonia Quintet is teaming up with soprano Maya Villanueva and pianist Romain David for a program that includes a new chamber arrangement of ‘Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune’ for piano quintet, as well as songs and chamber works, and of course Tôn Thất Tiết’s ‘Regards dans la brume’, as the closing piece.
Tôn Thât Tiêt sera à l’honneur cette année au Festival de Gargilesse du 11 au 26 août 2018. Le 18 août, le Trio Salzedo, composé de Marie Péres (flûte), Pauline Bartissol (violoncelle) et Frédérique Cambreling (harpe), donnera à l”église romane de Gargilesse un concert intitulé De Debussy à Tôn Thât Tiêt. Le programme comprendra des oeuvres de chambre de Debussy, ainsi que Endless Murmuring, pour violoncelle et harpe, Chu Ky I, pour harpe seule, Niêm, pour flute en sol et harpe et Incarnations Structurales, pour flûte, violoncelle et harpe.
Le concert sera précédé d’une projection du film L’Odeur de la Papaye Verte (1992), de Trần Anh Hùng.

A new album of Tôn-Thât Tiêt‘s earlier works from the 1960’s and 1970’s for harpsichord, piano and wind instruments has been released in Poland under the artistic direction of Joanna Balewska who also plays the harpsichord and piano.
The program includes some works that were written as early as when Tôn-Thât Tiêt was a student at the Conservatoire de Paris.
Un nouvel album des oeuvres de jeunesse pour clavecin, piano et instruments à vent de Tôn-Thât Tiêt vient d’être publié par l’Akademia Muzycznia en Pologne sous la direction artistique de Joanna Balewska. Ce disque comprend des oeuvres composées entre 1965 et 1972, années pendant lesquelles Tôn-Thât Tiêt développa son langage musical. Les interprètes sont: Andrzej Łęgowski – flûtes, Łukasz Krzemiński – hautbois, Jakub Drygas – clarinette, Arkadiusz Adamczyck – basson & Joanna Balewska – clavecin et piano.

Une nouvelle oeuvre de Tôn Thât Tiêt, Jeux de Couleurs, pour guitare et orchestre d’harmonie va être créée par l’Orchestre d’Harmonie de la Région Centre cet automne lors d’une série de concerts.
Le programme incluera également des oeuvres de Manuel de Falla, Emmanuel Chabrier, Ferrer Ferran et Joaquim Serra. Jeux de Couleurs est une commande d’état.
Jeux de Couleurs, a new work by Tôn Thât Tiêt for guitar and brass orchestra will be premiered this autumn by Gérard Abiton and the Orchestre d’Harmonie de la Région Centre under the baton of Philippe Ferro. Violinist Elsa Grether has released Kaleidoscope, a new album of works for solo violin, which includes Tôn Thât Tiêt‘s Métal Terre Eau, as well as music by Bach, Khatchaturian, Ysaÿe, Honegger and Albéniz.
The album was recorded in January 2017 at the Abbaye de Fontevraud, in France.

La violoniste Elsa Grether a sorti un nouveau disque intitulé Kaléidoscope, un récital de pièces pour violon seul, qui inclue Métal Terre Eau de Tôn Thât Tiêt.
Le reste du programme comprend la Chaconne de la Partita BWV 1004 de Johann Sebastian Bach, la Sonate n°3 “Ballade”, op 27 d’Eugène Ysaÿe, la Sonata-Monologue de Khatchaturian, la Sonate pour violon seul en ré mineur, H.143 de Honegger et le fameux Asturias d’Albéniz dans un arrangement pour violon seul de Xavier Turull.
Violinist Elsa Grether‘s new recital album Kaleidoscope, to be released in June 2017 will feature Tôn-Thất Tiết’s Métal-Terre-Eau, for solo violin. The album, recorded earlier this year at the Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, will feature other works for solo violin by Bach, Honegger, Khatchaturian, Albéniz and Ysaÿe.
The CD will be released under the Fuga Libera label.
