Pianist Nguyễn Hải Hoàng will perform Trung Dzuong, a piece for piano that Ton That Tiet wrote in memory of the boat people during On Life, a performance which will also include solo and chamber pieces by Cung Tien, Ton That Tiet and P. Q. Phan.

The event will take place on March 26th, 2017 at 4 p.m. at the Musco Center of the Arts in Orange, California

“On Life depicts elements that most of us have experienced—sadness, happiness, reminiscence, loneliness and celebration. It could be more so for Vietnamese Americans, who face challenges of multiculturalism and dualism and are torn by traditions and times. On Life is narrated through the contemporary musical language of Cung Tiên, Tôn Thât Tiêt, and scenes from the opera The Tale of Lady Thi Kính by P.Q. Phan.”
